Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy
In Partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Family First Home Companions Presents:
Patient Safety and Health Equity in Vulnerable Patient Populations
As we at Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy continue to break down barriers in care and improve patient safety outcomes, this program will look at three target groups: Limited English Proficiency; Dementia; and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. Invited guests will hear from local and national experts in health equity as well as the people belonging to these groups who may encounter obstacles to safe patient care.
This topic comes from the planning committee’s combined years of research and work with vulnerable populations. Following local and national expert panelists and keynote speakers, (including community members), breakout groups of community members, social workers, nurses and nursing students will discuss and learn about common obstacles to high quality care. CEU’s are available for social workers and case managers.
